GLOVO ad

Created for our Advertising Creativity class, we were given a brief from popular delivery service Glovo and told to highlight the fact that Glovo delivers more than just food. This class focused on understanding how to creatively adapt the instructions from a brief and work with external clients to create something truly unique and memorable. Our Glovo ad features a couple engaged in a passive-aggressive argument, conversing through the items they've received from Glovo. We wanted to create a comical and memorable advertisement that highlights Glovo’s brand values and adheres to their brand imagery.

challenge

Given a company at random and a brief with specific details and elements proposed by the client, we were given a restricted room to roam freely, creatively. These boundaries, however, allowed us to be creative with the brief we were given while simultaneously ensuring that the final product would reflect the brand’s values and respect their desired objectives.  We were given only 1 week to shoot and edit our concept into a deliverable advertisement, requiring very specific planning and being very organized throughout how we spent our time, especially since we worked with external actors.

process

Working in a group of six, we chose to move beyond the typical approach of dividing tasks by individual roles. Instead, we collaborated closely throughout every stage, from ideation to final delivery. Our goal was to challenge stereotypical gender portrayals in media; in depicting an arguing couple, we intentionally assigned the traditionally “needy” role, often associated with women, to the male character, while the woman was portrayed as the breadwinner and primary provider in their relationship.
